Bloggy Giveaway - Photo Bracelet!

Thanks to my friend Danielle, I am doing my very first Six Golden Coins Bloggy Giveaway. I'm nervous, but excited to see how it all goes!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

I am giving away a custom photo bracelet. I'll contact the winner of my giveaway and you can email me the six photos you'd like in your bracelet. I'll shrink the photos and do any editing necessary, seal them in plastic and insert them in the bracelet before I mail it to you. Here's a photo of the finished bracelet I wear:

Here's what I would like from you! Please read through my blog (don't miss the Toys in Iraq post from June!), then comment on this post. Tell me two things: 1) what you like best about my blog, and 2) what I could do to improve it.

I'll keep the contest open until noon CST on Friday, August 1.

Please also stop by my other blog, Katie Kay Tees. I'm doing another giveaway there for a customized shirt or onesie.

Thanks for playing!

Lets see- I think what I like most about your blog are the cut out FAMILY letters at the top with all your pictures. I would like one of those for a wall at home!! I also like the light blue color of your blog- and its not too busy looking. Thanks for the givewawy- I would love to win!!

I would say I love your insight. My favorite blog was the City Museum one since we just visited there but there is no need to include me in your drawing as I already have one of these wonderful Elizabeth original bracelets! If anyone would like to know how very much I love it, then send them my way!

Well..if I am going to be completely honest, I had planned on just skimming through your blog and then commenting...but I cannot do that now. I have marked your blog as one that I will visit and get to know better.

Your posts about your father and mother made me cry...as did the post about the Toys to Iraq. I think that I have found a kindred spirit in you...

I am new to your blog. I am off to read more in a minute. So far I have really enjoyed the easy archive searching. I loved the Meet the Teacher night. Your sense of humor really shows since you are going to break the teacher in ;) I cringed at parents like that when I was teaching and now I am also one of them!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

I love the name of your blog and the reason behind ....it's wonderful. I might use frames on your blog but it looks fine as it is.

I also love the name of your blog and the explanation of it. You're a good writer, and I've enjoyed the visit. Improvement? I can't think of a thing.

Please come by my place sometime as well.

I really enjoyed the katie-isms-it made me miss the times when my beans were that little-I think your blog is crisp and neat looking-I like the fact it isnt full of banner/links

Jenny said...

I love the banner with the pictures peeking through the word "family." Definitely gives your blog a polished look! To improve it, I'd just say more pictures in your posts. I always try to put at least one picture in every post (although sometimes I don't because it's too hard). It's nice to look back through the pictures at what's happened! I also think it's eye-catching for bloghoppers.

I liked the Katie-isms haha... and I sent my military wife friend a link to the Toys in Iraq post; she loved it.

I didn't read any of the other comments, so if I duplicate something, sorry. I like your blog title. Titles that show someone gave it serious thought are always my favorite. And I like your header... but the rest of the blog is a little plain. There are lots of free templates out there to jazz things up. Of course, if you click over to me, you'll see that my blog is pretty sparse looking right now, but that is a reaction to an overactive blog design (and some techy issues).

My favorite part of your blog would be the header, I love the way you took B&W photos and made letters =)
Least favorite would be the light blue color scheme, maybe I'm prejudiced to brighter and darker colors, but I'm just not a fan of baby blue and think it makes your blog look a little bland =/ Thanks for offering the photo bracelet, I love the idea =)

I love the way you write. You write like you are talking to us. You also think a lot like I do. I guess it's a mom thing. LOL!

The post about your brother was really sad. My own brother has a illness that may end up being fatal at some point. I try not to think of that and hope he continues on. I love the simplicity of your blog and that it's not cluttered. The color combinations is great.

I'm enjoying reading about your thoughts and your moments you're capturing as a parent--it's neat to see what you've chosen to write about, and it's lovely to learn about your family. And I have a Katie myself :) (And uh, yep, your little guy's a big one! My 3 year old weighs only a couple pounds more ;))

Congrats on your beautiful family and on capturing some of the joyful moments!

First I love your header! And the fact that you are an avid poster. I know that sometimes I fall behind in my posts per month but it looks like you are on top of it! Way to go!

I guss since you have music set up to play on your blog it would be nice if it would "auto play" as soon as someone arrives. I do however LOVE your playlist.

I've added you to my feeder so that that I can keep up with you from now on. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the opportunity to enter your wonderful giveaway!

I like the calm colors of your blog, and that it is not cluttered. I couldn't tell you what could improve the blog, I am too new at this.

I really like your header, how you incorporated your family photos. As for improving your blog, I'm not really sure (I'm only on my 200th post) I know my traffic picked up as soon as I signed up to advertise with BLogher, and when I particpate in Works for Me Wednesday over at Rocks in My Dryer I get traffic from that as well. Hope that helps a little. I would LOVE to win this bracelet!

I'm not familar with the poem, but I love the name of your blog and your description. Great blog!

I love the Toys to Iraq post. It touched my heart. Your posts are so down to earth. Only thing I could think of to improve is to offer some favorite recipes. I love it when blogs offer tried and true recipes. I have gotten some great ones that way.

I love the header. The only advice I have is possibly add a bit more color to it, maybe one other color to compliment the blue. What a great giveaway.

your posts seem to have 'depth and true meaning' to many of them and it makes for great reading. I love the post about your father and it reminded me of when Mom was dying in one room at the hospital and in another room next to hers a baby was being born- one life going and another coming.

I love your Header! How did you do that? As for improvements I would say a darker font so it would pop out more from the blue. More of a contrast to make ti easier on the eyes!

What a great gift! My favorite part about your blog is the header/title and the reasoning behind it. I quickly went and looked up the poem. One thing I might kindly suggest is maybe more color or a patterned background. I am a sucker for eye catching-color infused blogs!

Thanks so much for your consideration!

I loved your writing about your sister. I have a sister 15 years younger than me. This reminded me a little of us. I can't think of anything to improve. The whole thing is fun to read. The bracelet is so beautiful. Thanks for offering it as a gift.

hmm.. my favorite thing about your blog i'd have to say is those adorable pictures of your family at the top, i have seen many other blogs where they have pics of their family and it's just sooo cute and nice to see. i guess one thing you could do to improve your site is just add more colors!! i love colors and i'm sure others do too, but it's still okay the way it is

I love the photo FAMILY cutouts at the top of the profile. I guess to improve maybe you could make the background a little more interesting, but I do like the light blue color.
