It was at a birthday party for my daughter's friend. There were reptiles and snakes and lizards and all kinds of animals, including this tarantula. I didn't ASK for the spider to go on my head. The reptile guy thought it would be funny to put it on my head and let it crawl down to my face. He had just gone through this long spiel about how tarantulas can implode if they fall, and warned the kids who held it to stay VERY still. So when he came close to put it on my head, I went into STILL mode. Everyone had a good laugh, and I was brave and only freaked out a little. You can see the sweat glistening on my face, can't you?
I'm a stay-at-home mom of two kids, married since 1995 to my best friend, and a transplant from the South (Marietta, GA). I love writing, crafting, reading and learning.
I decided to name my blog after the poem "Six Golden Coins" by Martin Buxbaum. We are all given a precious gift at birth, and all have the ability to "spend" that gift as we grow and learn, laugh, cry, and love. I pray that the way I choose to spend my coins is pleasing to God, and makes the best use of what He gave me.

I am probably the one reader that is not totally wigged out by that. I love spiders. Now grasshoppers...they totally freak me out! :)
WOOOOW! Gross. (at least that is what came out of my mouth when I saw this pic lol) Story, please.
WHAT!? What is the STORY behind THIS? You are brave.
